Corduroy Brook
Bench Sponsorship Program
In an attempt to further involve the business community in supporting the Corduroy Brook Project, a Bench Sponsorship Program was started in 2001.
Intended as rest stops for trail users, benches have been constructed and placed throughout the Corduroy Brook Nature Trail. It was determined that the benches provide an excellent opportunity for exposure as it relates to the business community.
To sponsor a bench along the trail a business is charged a 1st year fee of $150. To maintain the sponsorship in subsequent years a charge of $75 is applied.
It was not long after the bench sponsorship program began that inquiries were made regarding the possibility of sponsoring a bench in memory or loved one. After discussing the idea and deciding that it was something that the association could accommodate the option of sponsoring a bench in memory of someone became available.
However, the association felt that it would be inappropriate to re-invoice families and the like on an annual basis. So it was decided that a one-time charge of $200 would apply in cases where benches were sponsored "in memory of".
