A relaxing wilderness experience for all ages
Corduroy Brook
Low-Head Barriers
Low-Head barriers are small dams constructed of logs, rock, or gabions. The dams create scour pools immediately down stream. The pools provide well oxygenated water and valuable protection for young fish during periods of low flow. Gravel from these scour pools is cleaned and deposited a short distance down stream, sometimes creating suitable spawning sites.
